IWG MARSEC-2022 Resolutions

RESOLUTIONS

1.
  • A. IWG members are encouraged to identify and study future threats related to cyber-security, climate change, and autonomous ships.
  • B. If there will be practical experiences in terms of actions against maritime newly emerging threats, IWG members can undertake to share those experiences accordingly.
  • C. IWG members can undertake training courses related to the impacts of cyber-security, climate change, and autonomous ships on maritime security. Such courses can be held both physically and virtually.
  • D. IWG co-chairs can undertake to plan and hold essay competitions centered on cyber-security, climate change, and autonomous ships.
2. IRIN will promulgate the updated version of the Guidelines for MARSEC IWG in 20 days after the meeting. IWG members are requested to study the document and share their comments by IPW 2022 which its exact date will be announced by the Indian Navy as the host. This document will be discussed at IPW to be sent to CoC 2023 for final ratification.
3. IONS Tactical Publication (ITP) will be validated at sea and during the MARSEC IMEX. This exercise will be re-planned to conduct after reaching for enough participations' announcement within coming months.
4. In order to enhance the practical collaboration within the IWG, it is suggested that the co-chairs, with the contribution of IWG members, prepare a list of volunteer navies to host annual exercises within the scope of IONS. Type and date of each exercise will be determined by the host navy.
